One night my husband was working on the flooring in the master bedroom and I was chilling on the floor with him. It was late, I had just gotten home from work, and was enjoying a croissant dipped in honey for dinner. He had been home for a few hours and was wrapping up installing a line of floor boards before we went to bed.
I was sitting on the vapor barrier, and eventually he got the boards to where I was sitting and asked me to move. I did my usual, “give me a compliment and I will move for you,” that I normally tease him with. In response, he takes my phone that’s been sitting in front of me, says, “Your phone looks so beautiful…” slides the phone across the faux wood to the other side of the room, and finishes with, “…over there.”
I laughed so hard I almost dropped my croissant and obliged him by moving.
It’s the little things in life that keep you going.
