85. New Kitties!

So one of my cats, Tiger, passed away last year due to UTI complications. It was very sad and I cried a lot. We waited a while before getting a new kitty, and we ended up with a brother and sister pair: Socks and Elsa.

Socks is a little bundle of energy and zooms around the house. Elsa is more of a lap cat but still loves to play with her brother. She also has what my husband refers to as “Disney eyes,” meaning her eyes get huge and innocent looking when she is moping or wants something.

(I did make efforts to get a picture of the “Disney eyes.” Do you know how hard it is to get a cat to do what you want? She looks still and innocent, but then I go in to take a picture of that moment, that gleam of cuteness, and she’s like, “I’m going to move my head around/stop doing cute pose so you don’t get your picture.” So for now, I leave this to your imagination.)

They are the cutest pair and get into all kinds of boxes and crevices around the house. And they snuggle with each other on the cat bed—it’s the most adorable thing.

We still have Rambo, our tuxedo kitty—he’s the old man now. He doesn’t care too much about the kitties one way or the other, but he does like to push them off the bed sometimes at night cuz he wants to snuggle with me alone.

I am always happy to come home and see the kitties running around. They have grown on my husband as well and they sleep with him sometimes. They are very sweet and have great personalities.

I hope you have something that makes you happy when you go home at the end of the day. It could be something as simple as down time, or cooking a great meal, or having just going to bed. It’s the little things that help get you through the day to day.

Meow.
