“Do you want rollerblade wheels for your desk chair?”
My husband and I both have home offices, and he worried the plastic chair wheels would damage our newly minted hardwood floors (see that post here). He found some wheels for our chairs, described as the same kind that go on rollerblades.
Now, I am not opposed to improvements, but that sounded a little silly to me. I’ve used the same desk chair since high school; it’s been an awesome chair. Even though it does look a little ragged these days, it’s still comfortable, has no issues, and the cats love jumping on top of it.
When the wheels came in I was skeptical, but I have to admit they did look like the ones on rollerblades. And you know what? My chair glides across the floor as if on ice now. While I thought I had it great from the get-go, now my chair was even more awesome.
One of the things I’m thankful for this year is ventures that work out. Granted, these wheels were a small one, but they reminded me of all the things I have to be thankful for and all the people that have helped me along the way. As I chow down on ham and sweet potatoes this week, I hope all of you remember the little things that have helped you through the year, no matter how small.
