If you could change something about your life, what would it be?
For me, I think I would have explored my options and started my freelance hustling earlier. When I was going to school for my science degree, it was mostly pushed that teaching or research were the only options. When I graduated, I started thinking about other things I could get into and started writing articles for websites. I looked briefly into medical writing, but most of those companies wanted someone with a PhD.
To be honest, I had a lot going on while I was going to school and might have been too busy to pursue anything anyway.
Wherever you are in your education or career, it’s never too late to get started in something on the side. Even if it is a hobby, it might turn into an income in the future.
Currently I am going through a copywriting book to beef up those skills this quarantine. I know people honing their cooking skills during this time or working more on getting in shape with home equipment.
Believe it or not, when my husband was in high school, he created a website, deviantart.com, for a class art project. Someone approached him later to buy the website, which paid for part of his college, and the site took off. You never know where your ventures will take you.
Lovely my dear, we are never to old to change the trajectory of our lives.
For me, I am humbled by the twists and turns life has put in my path and it’s outcome. I would have never planned it that way but if I had been in charge look at what I would missed.
It’s always interesting how hindsight offers the opportunity to see how all the random pieces and trials came together to shape and bring us where we are now.
